If you are on regular medication on a long-term basis, you may be allowed to have a number of repeat prescriptions without being seen, although you will need to be reviewed at least once a year. You can order your repeat medication by telephoning the practice, by ticking the items required on the right hand side of the order form from your last repeat prescription and return it to the surgery in person or by post. The prescription will be available for you to pick up in two to three working days.
Alternatively you can order online via the link at the top of this page. First time users are required to complete a simple one-off registration.
You may collect your prescription in person or for your convenience we will post prescriptions to you if you provide the surgery with a stamped addressed envelope. You may also ask your local chemist to collect your prescription on your behalf. Most local chemists call at the practice several times a week and many offer a collections service for their customers. Please note: Prescriptions can only be collected at the practice during the practice opening hours (not the Urgent Treatment Centre hours).
Your prescription can be sent electronically to your nominated pharmacy. Prescriptions are requested in the normal way but once digitally signed by the GP they will be sent electronically to your pharmacy. There are some exclusions to this service - for example patients who have a controlled drug on repeat will not be able to have this item or any other items sent electronically. To sign up for this service please enquire at a pharmacy of your choice.
If you, or someone you care for, use the same medicines regularly, you may be able to benefit from repeat dispensing from the pharmacist. This means you won’t have to visit the surgery or make an appointment to see the doctor or practice nurse every time you need more medicine. Talk to your doctor, local pharmacist or practice nurse to find out more about repeat dispensing. You will still need to have your medication reviewed at least once a year
Due to the very high number of prescriptions processed it is difficult to process urgent requests. Please help us by ensuring you leave adequate time, at least 48 hours, before you run out of medication particularly around holiday periods.
